eVil Martini is moving it’s blog – *again* – this time to wordpress.
Before all you fine rubyists out there decry that I’m using our evil nemesis language PHP allow me to remind you of several points:
- I’m a Ruby guy – not strictly a Rails guy…. as far as I’m concerned the Crips/Bloods Ruby/PHP (or any other web scripting framework) type thing that I see happen from time to time is a huge waste of effort
- I actually like wordpress. As a blogging platform it allows me to focus on writing posts and not on making sure that typo or mephisto are behaving correctly. All due respect, mehpisto was a quantum leap beyond typo, but at this stage in the game I’ve got lots of other things I’d rather be thinking about. (Erlang, LISP, and Haskell just to name a few.)
- Tools are just a means to an end. The end of keeping a blog is to codify many thoughts that just randomly pop up from time to time. Which platform you blog on is just another form of Yak Shaving. A goal of this blog is to start publishing many of the ideas that make it onto the back of the napkin, but never into the full space of the world at large. I’ve tried typo, and mephisto, and radiant – and ended up on wordpress.
So as always, pardon the dust while I try and get my random collection of thoughts settled into their new home.
